Sex Workers Convene for Cultural Festival: Speak Out on Craigslist Sex Panic
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 29, 2009 -- Sex workers and allies from various industry sectors and communities gather in San Francisco for a week of films, performances, parties, as well as educational and political sessions at this 6th biennial film and cultural festival. (Visit sexworkerfest.com for details.)
Attendees will gather at cultural events, and meet to address the current issues that they face from 'the Craigslist Panic' to the human rights impact of anti-trafficking polices, from 'prostitution free zones' in Washington D.C. to media representation and stereotypes.
This year the festival takes places during a particularly difficult time for many participants as Craigslist, described as "Times Square in its heyday," recently shut down the erotic services section. See this link for a story about the effects of this panic. (http://www.slate.com/id/2219167/)
"Sex workers from across the U.S., including many who are participating in this festival, are profoundly impacted by the shut down," says Acire Roche, director of SWOP, San Francisco (http://www.swopusa.org). "It's horrible that our government chooses to waste money and focus on 'capturing' prostitutes. This is devastating to those who are trying pay our bills, to survive and to feed our families. The Craigslist shut down is another example of current repressive trends."
"This movement is a strongly cultural movement and through our video, performance and poetry, we share our unique perspectives," says festival director, Carol Leigh (AKA Scarlot Harlot). "This event gives us a chance to come together, to share survival strategies and organize to support our rights."
"The Center for Sex and Culture is glad to be able to support these voices which are rarely heard, from those who are often criminalized and denied representation," says Carol Queen, director of CSC and festival sponsor.
The festival, founded in 1999, provides an opportunity to recognize prostitutes, dancers, porn performers and others who have historically been a dynamic part of arts communities.

Dating and Sex: Good Advice about Sex on Dates
To have or not to have, that's the big question surrounding sex on dates. Will you still be respected in the morning if you agree to sex on a first date? Will you still have a partner if you still haven't agreed to have sex and you've now been dating for a month? When is the right time, and what can you expect from your partner?
Questions And Answers Relating To Virtual Sex
What's Virtual Sex? Virtual sex is a recent phenomenon which attracts more and more users each and every day. Virtual Sex is sex without having actual sex. Utilizing a pc program, or a game, users can encounter simulated sex without having to leave their computer monitors. Sex sells. Creators of virtual sex games and programs know this and have created products which simulate numerous sexual acts and permit the user to "feel" the experience virtually.
Sex Toys for the Modern Men's
Man is naturally thinking about sex all day long. This can be because of the abundant secretion of male sexual hormone testosterone or because of his physiology characteristics. Because men often think about sex anytime of the day and during the most awkward of situations, there is a disadvantage especially when they feel the urge to release their sexual tension. Unfortunately, their partners are not often with them and nobody could tell when their next urge will occur. Masturbation, or the act of self stimulation and release of sexual tension, is normal, but can get really boring when done regularly. Such situations call for the use of different man sex toys.

Reasons to Consider Not Having Hookups in the City - Or the Country
As fun as it has been to watch Carrie Bradshaw and her friends living the wild and crazy life of gorgeous singles in the City, I have to wonder what it would be like to watch them having a visit with their gynecologist, psychologist and anyone else who might have their "best" interest at heart
Somehow, the reality of sex (mentally, physically and spiritually) doesn't quite make it to the big screen
Cheer up your spirits with sex chat
